Channelize resource groups to streamline availability of online study material; DSEK tells DIET Principals

Srinagar: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has asked the district education authorities to channelize the resource groups to streamline the availability of study material and video lectures for students on the official website of the directorate.

The direction comes after the study material was uploaded on the website of the directorate haphazardly and in unrecognized, distracting the government school students.

“It has come to the notice that students get distracted, confused as the study material in form of video lectures PPT and PDF Google documents available in unrecognized and nonspecific manner,” reads a letter sent to Principals of all District Institute of Education and Training (DIET)

In wake of this, the Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has asked the faculty of DIETs in collaboration with the resource Groups, teachers of their respective districts to prepare the voice Based short video lectures, PPT of each topics, chapter for Unit I and II as per prescribed syllabus.

“So that same shall be made available on website for benefit of students,” reads the letter

The DIET principals have been asked to prepare the voice based video lectures PPTs and submit to the State Institute of Education (SIE) Kashmir within two days for further process.

“Properly channelize the resource teachers (DRGs, ZRPs, CRPs) available in the district so that the task will be accomplished well in time and minimize the academic losses of students,” reads the letter.

In wake of lockdown announced due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the DSEK has already distributed assignments to students covering syllabus of Unit I and II. Also, online lectures are conducted via zoom classes and one hour lecture is telecasted daily on DD Kashmir.

“Various measures have been taken to keep the students abreast with the teaching-learning process amid the COVID-19 lockdown to minimize the academic loss to the students,” an official said.
