Chairman DDC Budgam lays Foundation Stone for Sodipora-Waragam Road under PMGSY
BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 25: Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Budgam, Nazir Ahmad Khan today laid the foundation stone for the Sodipora-Waragam Road, a significant project under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
This initiative marks a pivotal step towards enhancing connectivity between numerous villages, fostering better integration and accessibility within rural areas.
The Sodipora-Waragam Road holds tremendous promise, offering a vital link that connects communities previously isolated due to infrastructural limitations. By bridging these gaps, the road is poised to revolutionize connectivity and provide greater opportunities for socio-economic development in the region.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of various dignitaries, including DDC Sukhnag Rozia Jan, Executive Engineer PMGSY Budgam, PRI members, and distinguished senior citizens.
Speaking at the ceremony, DDC Chairman expressed his enthusiasm for the project’s potential to transform lives by facilitating better access to essential services and opportunities.
He extended his gratitude to the Honourable LG administration involved and reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering dedication to advancing infrastructure for the betterment of the community.

Greentech Foundation catalyzes Corporate Social Responsibility at CSR Summit & Awards-2023 at Sonamarg
GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 25: To initiate discussions and catalyze initiatives promoting sustainable practices within Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Greentech Foundation concluded its two day summit at Sonamarg, here.
Organized by Kamleshwar Sharan, CEO and Chairman of Greentech Foundation, the summit united professionals from diverse sectors, emphasizing a collective vision for sustainability.
Final day event was graced by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir as the chief guest.
On the occasion the DC highlighted the noteworthy government initiatives in Ganderbal, shedding light on the strides made in sanitation projects during Yatra 2023.
The DC also emphasized the industrial-friendly policies of the government aimed at attracting investments to Jammu and Kashmir. The collaborative efforts with industries in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode were underscored as key drivers of sustainable development.
Throughout the summit, participants emphasized the need for a robust safety culture and commitment to energy conservation, discussing best practices and innovative strategies.
Keynote speakers from private sectors highlighted the pivotal role corporations play in shaping a responsible future.
Workshops and discussions explored practical approaches for integrating CSR into corporate frameworks, fostering knowledge exchange and providing actionable insights.
The summit recognized outstanding CSR initiatives, inspiring healthy competition in socially responsible practices.
The Greentech Foundation expressed optimism about the impact of collective efforts, anticipating significant contributions to the global dialogue on sustainability.
Later, around 40 corporates and public sector units were given awards for their unique and highly impactful CSR projects for the marginalised sections of societies, women empowerment, rehabilitation of the disabled and conservation of heritage. The winners included Oil India Ltd, IREL, SJVN, NLC, Hindustan Unilever, Adani Port, JSW, SBI, Birla Cement etc.
The program was also attended by the Chief Executive Officer Sonamarg Development Authority (CEO) Dr Ilyas Hussain, SDM Kangan, Javaid Ahmad Rather, SDPO Kangan Dr Muzaffar Jan, SHO Sonamarg and others.
