CBK Launches Major Raids in ₹53 Lakh Srinagar Land Scam Case

Srinagar, Oct 9 (ANN NEWS):

The Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) on Thursday conducted search operations at multiple locations across Srinagar after registering a case against four land brokers accused of duping a complainant of ₹53 lakh through forged land documents and fake property deals.

According to an official statement issued to ANN NEWS, the searches are being carried out in connection with FIR No. 23/2025, registered under Sections 420 and 120-B IPC against the accused — Tariq Ahmad Hajam, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Sonaullah Mir, and Razzak Mir, all residents of Barthana, Srinagar.

The case was filed following a written complaint alleging that the accused fraudulently took ₹53 lakh from the complainant on the false pretext of arranging a land deal. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused, in connivance with certain revenue officials, had forged documents and misused official channels to illegally obtain both money and land.

Officials said that raids are ongoing to seize evidence and identify the wider network involved, including any public servants who may have aided the conspiracy.

Further investigation is underway, the statement added.
