CBI ACB Jammu Arrests Patwari in Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Anti-Corruption Branch Jammu, has arrested a Patwari, who has recently been selected as Assistant Director in the Planning Department, and husband of top BJP Leader Ramban identified as Uttam Singh, son of Hari Saran, in connection with a bribery case. He was posted in the office of the Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ramban, and is a resident of Village Kumet in Tehsil Rajgarh of Ramban district.

According to officials, action was initiated following a complaint alleging demand of money in a revenue-related matter. During verification, the accused allegedly asked the complainant to transfer an amount of ₹2,00,000 into a Jammu and Kashmir Bank account belonging to a person identified as Kanta Devi and provided a handwritten note containing the account details. The complainant subsequently transferred the amount through the bank’s mPay service from his account to the bank account of Patwari.

After completing required legal formalities, the CBI team carried out the operation and arrested the accused.

Officials also stated that the accused had recently been selected as Assistant Director in the Planning Department through the JKES Examination 2024 and was expected to be relieved from his present post shortly.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
