Budgam Police Smash Major Drug Syndicate — 325 Kgs of Charas Seized in Chadoora Raid
Budgam, October 15, 2025:
In one of the biggest anti-narcotics operations of the year, Budgam Police have busted a massive drug racket in Chadoora, recovering a staggering 325 kilograms of charas-like substance from a residential house.
Acting on credible intelligence, a team from Police Station Chadoora, led by senior officers and supervised by an Executive Magistrate 1st Class, raided the residence of Ghulam Rasool Wani, Mohd Altaf Wani, and Gh. Nabi Wani — all sons of Ghulam Mohd Wani, residents of Chitru Dangerpora.
During the search, 27 nylon bags filled with charas-like substance were recovered from the premises. The seized contraband, weighing approximately 325 kilograms, was sealed and taken into custody as per legal procedures.
Following the recovery, FIR No. 181/2025 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Chadoora, and an in-depth investigation has been launched to unearth the broader network involved in the narcotics trade.
A senior police officer termed the operation a “major breakthrough in Budgam’s fight against the drug menace,” adding that more arrests are likely in the coming days.
Budgam Police reaffirmed their zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking and urged citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any information regarding narcotics smuggling or suspicious activities in their areas.
“Our mission is to protect the youth from the devastating grip of drugs — and we will continue our war against narcotics until Budgam is drug-free,” the officer asserted.
