Srinagar: The students of BSc nursing of the south campus University of Kashmir on Wednesday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding fee concession.
Amid snow and rainfall scores of BSc nursing first-year students of South Campus, University of Kashmir assembled here at press colony and shouted the slogans in favour of justice and demanded immediate fee concession by the authorities.
The protesting students said that the other nursing colleges offer maximum Rs 38000 per year for the course but the KU is compelling the students to deposit Rs 78800 per annum.
“We have approached the higher authorities including Vice Chancellor KU for concession. But they are not heeding to our demand,” said a student.
Hashmat Amin, BSc nursing Student said, “there is a huge disparity in the fee structure of south campus and rest of the BSc Nursing colleges of Kashmir.”
“I had to pay around 1lack for my first year and rest of the colleges doesn’t charge much. Their fee structure is less than 50,000 annually. My family cannot afford this much of money so I request the University of Kashmir to reduce our fee structure,” said Hashmat. (KL)
