Brother of jailed Hurriyat leader urges GoI to shift Kashmiri prisoners back to Valley

Srinagar: Mohmmad Syed Shah, brother of Jailed Hurriyat leader Shabir Ahmad Shah urged the Government of India and the J&K Union Territory administration to shift Kashmiri prisoners lodged in various jails of India back to the Valley in view of the massive spike in Covid deaths and cases across the country.

In a telephonic conversation with News Agency Kashmir Dot Com Mohmad Syed Shah, brother of Jailed Hurriyat leader, Shabir Ahmad Shah said that health conditions of the hundreds of Kashmiri prisoners lodged in different jails in India is deteriorating including my younger brother, Hurriyat leader and Chairman Democratic Freedom Party who were already in Tihar jail since 2016.

“It was urged upon the Government of India and the J&K UT administration to shift Kashmiri prisoners from outside jails to the nearest jails in Kashmir in view of the disastrous wave throughout India which is consuming thousands of lives per day,” Shah told KDC.

“My brother is suffering from many aliments, his health has worsened after his arrest, ” he said.

He said that the family members of these prisoners are seriously concerned about the health and lives of their loved ones which are languishing in different jails across the country.

Shah extended solidarity with the bereaved family of Ashraf Sehrai and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. “I pray to almighty Allah to grant Jannat to Sehrai Saheb, and give courage to his family to bear this huge loss,” Shah added. (KDC)
