Swachhta Pakhwada Campaign
Srinagar, July 08 : In a spirited effort to promote hygiene and environmental responsibility, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Srinagar Aviation Fueling
Station (AFS), organized a comprehensive Cleanliness Drive at the Srinagar Airport Market as part of the nationwide “Swachhta Pakhwada” campaign.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from BPCL employees, local shopkeepers,
municipality sanitary workers and airport stakeholders including AAI, all united by a common goal: to foster a cleaner and healthier public space. The team undertook sweeping, waste collection, and awareness activities across the market area, emphasizing the importance of sustained cleanliness in high-footfall zones.
“Cleanliness is not just a campaign—it’s a culture we must all embrace,” said Mr Irshad Lone, Location In-charge BPCL Srinagar AFS. “Through this drive, we aim to inspire collective
responsibility and set an example for civic hygiene.”
The event also featured the distribution of eco-friendly jute bags to sanitary workers and local shopkeepers, reinforcing the message of sustainable waste management. BPCL’s initiative aligns with the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and reflects the corporation’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and community engagement.
The Cleanliness Drive concluded with a pledge ceremony, where participants reaffirmed their dedication to maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings.
