Body of 42-year old woman retrieved from Poonch river

Poonch, March 21: Body of a woman was recovered from a river in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Reports reaching GNS said that a police team immediately reached at Nagalishaib soon after being informed about the body lying in the area.

Confirming it, SHO Poonch Nishant Gupta told GNS that the police party retrieved the body from the river at Nagalishaib area today morning.

The officer identified the deceased as Shahmim Akhter (42) wife of Mohd Shafiq of Dhelera.

The body has been taken to the nearby hospital for medico legal formalities, he said.

In this connection, a case under section 174 Cr.PC was registered and further investigations initiated, he added.
