Block Diwas: DDC Rajouri listens to public issues at Dhangri
RAJOURI, MAY 04: District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal today assured the public that District Administration Rajouri would make tireless efforts to alleviate public difficulties and give a push to each sector for the holistic development of the region.
He was chairing a public grievances redressal camp organised at Dhangri as a part of the weekly Block Diwas.
Among the others, BDC Chairperson Dhangri, Tazeem Akhter; ACD, Vijay Kumar; CPO, Mohammad; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CAHO, Dr Fazal Hussain; ARTO, Shami Kumar; Executive Engineers from the Jal Shakti, PWD, PDD, PMGSY, REW and other district and sectoral officers were present during the program.
The public and their representatives apprised about scores of issues and demands of their areas including macadamization of roads, upgradation of government institutions, better healthcare facilities, paucity of staff etc.
Specific demands projected included renovation of Dhangri to Dova road, provision of drainage system along roads, removal of illegal encroachments alongside roads, augmentation of water supply, provision of electric poles and coverage of the area under Jal Jeevan mission.
Some more demands included a check on illegal mining, commissioning of the irrigation scheme at Saranoo, meeting the shortage of Power distribution transformers, timely payments under PMAY, check on inflated electricity bills etc.
Public also demanded start of the work on the bridge at Badhoon-B, maintaining the quality of developmental works, scheduled power cuts, completion of work on borewell at Badhoon-B, inclusion of left out beneficiaries under PMAY-G etc.
The officers from different departments also educated the general public about government schemes and programs and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same.
They also highlighted the progress achieved under different welfare schemes and also responded to the queries raised by the public during the program.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to the public demands and passed on-spot directions for redressal of their grievances at an earliest.
Addressing the gathering, the DDC said that the District Administration is committed to provide better civic facilities to the people and effective measures are in place to ensure the same.
Terming Block Diwas as an important administrative intervention, he called upon the officers to use this platform optimally for service delivery and alleviating public grievances.
Highlighting a number of Government schemes and programs, he directed the officers to educate the general public about the same so that they can avail maximum benefits of these schemes.
Referring to scores of self employment generation schemes being implemented under mission youth and others, the DDC urged the youth to avail the benefits and set up their income generating units.
Underlining the role of the public in the developmental process, he advised the public and their representatives to keep a close eye on the developmental activities being carried out in their areas and ensure that quality is maintained while executing the developmental works for longevity of the projects.
Responding to the demand for implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, the DDC said that scores of schemes were being executed in the area soon.
Later, the DDC also inspected under construction Fish Farm at Bindi and other developmental projects. He asked the concerned officers to expedite the progress and complete the projects within the shortest possible time.
