BJP Ministers Face Abuses For Being ‘Disrespectful’ At Fallen CRPF Hero’s Funeral In Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: Union Minister Satya Pal Singh, BJP minister in Yogi Adtyanath’s government in Uttar Pradesh, Sidharth Nath Singh, and BJP MP from Meerut Rajendra Agarwal faced angry protests on Tuesday for their insensitivity towards slain CRPF jawan in Meerut.

Grieving family members of slain CRPF jawan Ajay Kumar lost their cool after they found Satya Pal Singh, Sidharth Nath Singh, Agarwal and another BJP leader Vineet Sharda sitting at the funeral venue with their shoes on. To make the matter worse, Satya Pal Singh was seen bursting into laughter (see above) while in conversation with his party colleague even as crowd gathered at the site mourned the death of CRPF Kumar.

In the video, angry family members of Agarwal are seen launching a tirade against BJP functionaries and minister for insulting the fallen hero. One incensed family member is even heard using expletives to address the senior BJP leaders, who save their day by quickly removing their shoes as ordered by the relatives of the slain CRPF jawan.

This evoked angry reactions from social media users, who wondered why BJP leaders and ministers were so insensitive despite claiming to be the flag-bearers of nationalism in India.

User Rofl Gandhi wrote, “bahut optimistic log hain ye, har situation mein chhoti-chhoti khushiyan dhund lete hain. (They are incredibly optimistic people. They manage to find little excuse for happiness in every situation.)” User Don Ki Baat wrote, “After a few months it will be the turn of the people to laugh.” Kumar Pallav Chitraansh asked about Satya Pal Singh, “If I am correct he is former Police Commissioner too.”

This is not the first time, BJP leaders have been found to be insulting the deaths of CRPF jawans since the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama left 45 members of the India’s paramilitary force dead. Hours after the deadliest terror attack on the Indian armed forces had left Indians stunned, BJP President Amit Shah was seen seeking votes and promising to built Ram Temple in Karanataka’s Hospet, Union Minister Piyush Goyal was attempting to stitch an alliance in Tamil Nadu and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari was entertaining crowd at a musical concert in Allahabad.

The next day, even as India mourned the deaths of its soldiers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was busy seeking votes for his party, the BJP, in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi. And if that wasn’t enough, one of his MPs, Sakshi Maharaj, was seen occupying the front spot in the vehicle carrying another CRPF martyr in Unnao, while laughing and greeting the thousands of people gathered to pay their last respect to the fallen hero. (JKR)
