Punjab Police Uncover Major Heroin Smuggling Operation, Seizing 105 Kg in Historic Bust

In a significant intelligence-led operation, Punjab Police dismantled a cross-border drug smuggling network, apprehending two key associates of foreign-based drug smuggler Navpreet Singh, also known as Nav Bhullar.

Authorities seized a substantial haul of 105 kg of heroin, 31.93 kg of caffeine anhydrous, 17 kg of DMR (cutting agent), along with five foreign-made pistols and one locally-made firearm (Desi Katta).

The investigation revealed that drugs were smuggled from Pakistan using water routes. Large rubber tubes, believed to be used for transporting narcotics across waterways, were also recovered during the operation.

The two suspects, Navjot Singh and Lovepreet Kumar, are currently in police custody. An FIR has been filed at the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) in Amritsar.

The investigation is ongoing, with efforts to trace the backward and forward linkages of this network to identify and arrest other criminals involved in the drug cartel.
