Awantipora police arrested two drug peddlers

Awantipora: Awantipora police claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers from Reshipora Bunpora near irrigation gauge in Awantipora town of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.

The duo have been identified as Gulzar Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Mohammed Ganie, resident of Braw Bandina and Bilal Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammed Ramzan Bhat, resident of Kulpora Lassipora Pulwama.

Police in a statement said, a Santro car bearing Registration Number JK03B9591 was intercepted by Awantipora police at a special Naka at Reshipora Bunpora near irrigation gauge and arrested two drug peddlers.

2.20 kgs of contraband substance charas and cash amount of Rs 50,000/- was recovered from their possession. A Santro vehicle was also seized.

During on spot questioning of the arrested duo admitted that the seized money pertains to the proceeds of the narcotic substances

A Case FIR Number 01/2020 under relevant sections of NDPS law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.
