Awantipora Encounter: Second Militant Body Recovered, Searches On
Srinagar, May 18: Second militant body has been also recovered from encounter site after an encounter broke at Panzgam area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday pre-dawn hours.
A police officer told GNS that second militant body has been recovered, whereas searches are still on.
As per the sources both the slain militants belonged to Hizb and one among them has been identified as Showkat Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Rasool Dar resident of Panzgam, Pulwama (Active since Sep. 2016), where as other one is yet to identified.
Earlier, the officer said that the encounter broke out in Panzgam village after a joint team of army’s 55 RR and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation following inputs about the presence of some militants. (GNS)
