Avalanche Warning Issued In Several J&K Districts

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (DMA) on Thursday issued Medium Danger Level avalanche warning in eight districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

The warning has been issued for next 24 hours in view of the inclement weather conditions in the Union Territory.

According to Disaster Management Authority (DMA), the avalanche with Medium Danger Level is likely to occur above 2400 meters above sea level in Bandipora, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch and Ramban districts in the next 24 hours.

The Management has also advised people living in these areas to take precautions and avoid venturing in the avalanche prone areas till further orders.

Pertinently, the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir received heavy snowfall while plains received light snowfall during the last 24 hours. — (KIMS)
