Authorities Warn Against Circulation of Malicious Content on Social Media

Authorities have taken serious note of the circulation of malicious and misleading content on social media platforms related to the alleged removal of a particular flag. Officials stated that such posts are not only factually incorrect but also hold the potential to disturb public order, incite unrest, and disrupt communal harmony.
In an official advisory, all social media users have been strictly instructed to immediately delete any such content and avoid sharing or uploading similar material in the future.
“We are closely monitoring social media activity. Any attempt to spread misinformation or incite tension will be dealt with firmly under the law,” a senior police official said.
The statement further emphasized that strict legal action will be initiated against individuals or groups found responsible for creating or promoting such content. Authorities have warned that violations will be prosecuted under relevant sections of the law, including those pertaining to the promotion of enmity, public mischief, and cyber offences.
