Army Soldier On Way To Tanghdar, Goes Missing In Srinagar On August 9

Polices files missing report, launch hunt to trace him out

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday launched a hunt to trace out the soldier who went missing six days ago from Humhama area here.

A police officer told GNS that an army soldier went missing from Humhama area of Srinagar on August 9 while he was returning from home and was heading towards his place of posting in Tanghdar.

The officer identified the missing soldier as Dharmener Singh of 6 Garhwal Rifles.

On Tuesday, an officer of Havaldar rank namely Santosh Kumar of the same unit filed a missing report in police station Humhama wherein it was stated that the soldier after reaching the airport on August 9 while he was returning back on duty from home went missing from Humhama area, he said.

“Following the complaint, a missing report was registered and investigations into the incident have been launched to trace out the soldier,” the officer added. (GNS)
