Army Jawan Martyred in Kishtwar Encounter During Operation TRASHI-I

 

 

An Army Special Forces jawan, Havildar Gajendra Singh, laid down his life during a counter-terrorism operation in the Singpura area of Kishtwar district on the night of January 19, 2026.

 

 

 

 

According to official sources, security forces had launched a major search and cordon operation in the forest area after receiving specific inputs about the presence of terrorists. During the operation, contact was established with the hiding terrorists, leading to a fierce exchange of fire.

 

 

 

Havildar Gajendra Singh displayed exceptional courage and leadership while leading the operation from the front. In the intense gunfight, he was critically injured while protecting his team and was immediately evacuated to a medical facility. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.

 

 

 

 

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of White Knight Corps and all ranks paid rich tributes to the fallen soldier, praising his bravery, valour, and supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. In an official statement, the Army said his courage and dedication will always be remembered.

 

 

 

 

Meanwhile, the operation in the area is still ongoing, and additional forces have been deployed to ensure that the remaining terrorists are neutralised. Security has been further tightened .

 

 

 

The Army stands firmly with the bereaved family in this hour of grief and salutes the supreme sacrifice of the braveheart.
