Army HPCL Kashmir Super-50 (Medical) co-partnered with HPCL & NIEDO was inaugurated by Lt Gen D P Pandey, GOC Chinar Corps!

Every now and then a man’s mind is stretched by a new idea or sensation, and never shrinks back to its former dimensions! That is what the army wants ‘broaden the dimensions of Kashmiri students!!

-‘Success comes from the inside out. In order to change what is on the outside, you must first change what is on the inside. Kids in Kashmir are highly talented and want to move ahead on fast wheels of progression towards new horizons. The Indian Army wants to give them the necessary push and is partnering with big concerns to ensure the kids of Kashmir move on to greater heights!’

‘When you work on something that only has the capacity to make you 50 Rupees, it does not matter how much harder you work – the most you will make is Rupees fifty . The idea that is bei9ng driven is that the children are being told to move in a stepwise manner to hit the top deck!’

-‘The Kashmir Super-30 has been expanded to include 20 girls who will undergo 12 month coaching for entrance examinations for various medical streams.’

-‘Project Kashmir Super 50 is an initiative to transform the educational status of children from economically weaker sections in the Kashmir region. It was launched on 22 March 2013. This is a joint initiative by the Indian Army, Center for Social Responsibility and Leadership (CSRL) and PETRONET LNG Limited (PLL).’

-‘It is an 11 month; completely free residential coaching for students belonging to the underprivileged section of the society. The students are prepared for IIT and other premier engineering institutes. The Students are selected for the programme through an entrance test and interview conducted at various colleges throughout the state in the months of April and May.’

-‘On similar lines of Kashmir Super 50 for engineering aspirants, Indian Army has recently signed a MoU for medical aspirants with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) & National Integrity Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO), under which selected students will be provided with complete free residential coaching for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).’

 

 

It is nice to see the kids in Kashmir getting competitive. It is not that they were not competitive but the last thirty years have been extremely bad but things are coming back on rails and hence the present generation want to steam ahead and the majority have realized that there is no point in going for the gun and chasing shadows by house hopping and finally biting the dust. Girls and boys have realized that today is a new day and it brings with it a new set of opportunities for them to act on. They are attentive to the opportunities and they are willing to seize them as they arise. They have full confidence in themselves and their abilities. They feel that they can do all things that they commit themselves to. No obstacle is too big or too difficult for them to handle because what lies inside me is greater than what lies ahead of them. This aspiration the Indian Ar5my has given them.The feeling that horses do not look good standing they only look good galloping!

Kashmir Super 50 has been one of the most successful projects undertaken by the Indian Army in the valley and has directly impacted the lives of a number of youths in J&K by providing them the right guidance and opportunity to make a career for themselves. The project has equally helped the families of these youths in their growth and prosperity. It is a major initiative towards bringing normalcy in the valley. The 2018 batch, which is the fifth batch of Kashmir Super 50 had 45 boys based in Srinagar and five girl students based in Noida. Out of which, 32 students (30 boys and 02 girls) have cleared IIT-JEE Mains and seven students have cleared IIT-JEE Advanced.

The erstwhile Kashmir Super 30 (Medical) has been expanded to include 20 girls who will undergo the 12 month coaching for entrance examinations of various medical streams. The girls apart from receiving educational coaching will also be provided with additional facilities of Library, Computer Lab, Mess and Rest rooms at the centre. Hi-tech classrooms have been prepared separately for them and state of the art facilities have been created to provide them the best environment for their studies.

The project Army HPCL Kashmir Super 50 (Medical), has been conceptualized by Srinagar based Chinar Corps to provide best education opportunities for students of Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh by coaching and mentoring them for a period of twelve months for entrance examinations of various Medical Streams/Colleges spread across in India. The program is co-partnered with HPCL, corporate partner and National Integrity & Educational Development Organization (NIEDO), training partner. The project is located at Haft Chinar, Srinagar. Lt Gen DP Pandey, GOC Chinar Corps during his interaction with the students emphasized the importance of the role of women to achieve sustainable development and creating long term stability thus bringing positive and constructive change in the society. Highlighting the determination of the Indian Army to ensure the youth are provided with the best educational opportunities, the Corps Cdr wished success to all students who will undergo the 12 month coaching program and bring laurels to their families and the society. Major General SS Slaria, GOC Kilo Force, CEO of NIEDO, Dr Rohit Srivastava and various other dignitaries from Army and civil administration, students and their parents were present at the inauguration ceremony. The motto stated by the army is clear, let your creative and imaginative mind run freely; it will take you places you never dreamed of and provide breakthroughs that others once thought were impossible!
