Architect Dr. Sourav Mitra is felicitated with the prestigious young researcher award 2022
Eminent doctorate of architecture and founder of M-creation Architect and Engineers, Dr. Sourav Mitra from Siliguri West Bengal is felicitated with the prestigious young researcher Award 2022 by InSc (Institute of Scholars) for publishing a journal titled “‘Architectural Analysis of Mud housing and Adobe Housing: Case of Bengal” under the journal name of “International Journal of Research Publication and Reviews” in February 2022. Not just an architect, Dr. Sourav Mitra is a multifaceted personality who is also a designer, a thinker, a presenter, an entrepreneur, a negotiator, a project manager,and what not? And all of them at once.
Sourav Mitra is best known for his research title”Architectural Analysis of Mud Housing and Adobe Housing in Bengal.” The research article was chosen from a pool of 70 submissions from throughout the country. The research concentrates on Bengali vernacular mud architecture practices. This research paper will benefit not only the architects but also everyone interested in vernacular architecture.
Dr. Sourav is an Indian artist and writer known for his books “Tends to Phoenix,” “Dehakriti,” “Lumos,” and “Nagar,” as well as his incredible diversity in painting. He went to Tarai Tarapada Adarshya Vidyalaya in Siliguri for his schooling. He went on to Piloo Mody College of Architecture (PMCA) Cuttack to get his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Following that, he earned a dual post-graduate degree in fire and industrial safety engineering from Nagpur’s National Institute of Fire and Safety, as well as a certificate in Disaster Engineering and Management. WHRPC later bestowed upon him a Ph.D. in architecture.
Sourav was encouraged to learn new skills, take on more responsibility, and gain a better understanding of all the existing initiatives after completing his education, and he worked on a number of high-profile projects during this time. Many aspiring architects who face challenges in the workplace can benefit from Sourav’s success. Sourav’s work is notable for its range and breadth of projects. “Working on multiple scales of projects at once creates a separate creative flow and encourages a more flexible approach to architectural design,” he continues.
Sourav’s success as an architect and entrepreneur demonstrates the significance of keeping an open mind, clear communication, determination, and, most importantly, the passion that drives him to achieve the summit of success.
“Like every architect, it was always my desire to have my own firm one day,” he says, “and to make it a success, I had to push outside my comfort zone and keep challenging myself and trying new things.” So, my recommendation to all aspiring architects is to take on as much responsibility as possible so that they can learn as rapidly as possible. I am thankful to my sister architect Nandini Ghose for being my fellow researcher in my other research works.”
