Anti-Drug Awareness Lecture Organised at Town Hall, Tangmarg

To combat drug abuse and promote a healthy lifestyle, the Army organised an Anti-Drug Awareness Lecture at the Town Hall, Tangmarg. The initiative aimed at sensitising youth and civil society about the growing menace of substance abuse and encouraging a drug-free society through awareness and positive engagement.
The programme witnessed the participation local population, including college students, teachers, and prominent citizens from Chandilora, Ferozepura, and Tangmarg. The presence of diverse sections of society reflected strong community involvement and a shared commitment towards addressing the challenge of drug addiction.
Awareness on the causes of drug abuse, its adverse health, social, and psychological consequences, and effective preventive measures were the aims. Emphasis was laid on early identification of addiction, peer and family support, and timely medical intervention as crucial steps in prevention and rehabilitation.
Highlighting the theme “No to Drugs, Yes to Sports,” the speaker underscored the importance of sports, physical fitness, and constructive activities in positively channelising youth energy and building resilience against substance abuse.
The programme concluded with interactive discussions and received positive feedback from the participants. The initiative reaffirmed the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment towards youth empowerment and community wellbeing, further strengthening the bond of trust and harmony with the local populace.
