ANN News Impact; Structure coming up at state land sealed in Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 4: Taking cognizance of ANN News report about occupation of state land, authorities on Saturday sealed the under construction structure at 4G Spot in Srinagar.

ANN News in its detailed report had highlighted that Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has ‘leased’ state land near RTO office under its occupation to two private persons.

In this regard, Srinagar Divisional Magistrate had also shot a communication to SMC, asking it to clear its stand on the claims made by these two private persons.

In its popular live TV Show Saath Se Aaath, ANN News run the footage and shared official records with its viewers and raised questions as who authorized SMC to lease the state land.

The official communication by district administration Srinagar to SMC had also raised three queries: was the land in question leased out by SMC? Whether SMC was authorized to sublet the land in question? And share the copy of lease, if any.

Though the officials at SMC, when contacted by ANN News, refused to comment on the matter during live TV show.

Today authorities from district administration sealed the structure coming up on Khasra number 437 at 4G Spot near RTO office, recorded as state land in official records.

Sources said that under-construction structure at Dalgate area is also coming up on state. “This structure and another hotel in Rajbagh   area will be sealed and land will be retrieved shortly,” sources added.
