Anantnag Police Intensifies Crackdown on Drug Trafficking: Two Arrested with Contraband Substances

In a continued effort to combat Drug trafficking, Anantnag Police apprehended two individuals with contraband substances in separate incidents during naka checking operations.
In the first incident, a naka was set up by a team from Police Station Anantnag at the bypass near Ganjiwada. During the operation, a suspicious individual traveling from Ashajipora towards Mehandi Kadal attempted to evade the checkpoint but was swiftly apprehended by vigilant officers. The individual, identified as Zakir Ahmad Zargar, son of Gh. Rasool, a resident of Papibal, Anantnag, was found in possession of 400 grams of a charas.
In the second incident, a Police team from Police Post Dialgam established a naka at Bonadialgam near the bypass. A suspicious person carrying a polythene bag was intercepted while traveling from Mominabad towards Dialgam. Identified as Aamir Hussain Malik, son of Ab. Hameed Malik, a resident of Pushwara Khanabal, he was found with 350 grams of a charas .
Both individuals were arrested, and cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Anantnag. Investigations are underway.
