Anantnag Police arrested drug Peddlers with Contraband substance

Anantnag, April 03: Anantnag Police Continuing it’s War against drug peddlers arrested two drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from there possession. Police party from Police Station Srigufwara headed by SHO Srigufwara laid Naka at Sakras crossing and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No. JK03E-6516 during search of the vehicle about 22kgs of Poppy Straw (Fukki) recoverd from the said vehicle.

Two persons namely Shamus ul Din Ganie S/O Mohd Akbar Ganie and Gulzar Ahmad Hajam S/O Gh. Mohd Hajam both residents of Kanelwon Bijbehara.

In this connection, Case FIR Number 23/2021 under relevant sections of the law stands registered in Police Station Srigufwara and investigation into the matter has been taken up.

Anantnag Police once again appeals the people of the District to come forward with the information regarding drug peddlers so that curative steps can be taken against them.
