Anantnag Police Arrested a Drug Peddler, Contraband Recovered.

In a continued effort to curb the menace of drug trafficking and safeguard the community from the harmful effects of narcotics, Anantnag Police achieved a significant breakthrough.
A police party from Police Station Kokernag, while conducting a naka (checkpoint) at Hangalgund, apprehended a drug peddler. The accused has been identified as Abid Husain Mir, son of Bashir Ahmad Mir, resident of Narupora. During his search, police party recovered 10 kilograms and 300 grams of Bhang Patri and Bhang seeds from his possession.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 80/2025 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kokernag, and investigation has been initiated.
Anantnag Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug peddling and urges the public to come forward with any information related to drug-related activities in their areas.
