Anantnag: Hybrid Militant Taken For Identification Killed By Militants, Says Police
SRINAGAR — A hybrid militant of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) who was taken for the identification of a hideout during a search operation at Cheki Dudoo village of Bijbehara town in Anantnag district was killed after militants fired upon him, police said on Sunday.
Police said that the hybrid Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant identified as Sajjad Tantray of Kulgam was killed after he was hit by militant bullet when he was taken out for the identification of a hideout.
“When search party reached towards the suspected hideout militants opened fire which hit one accused, hybrid militant of LeT Sajjad Tantray of Kulgam, who was with search party for identification of hideout. He was rushed to SDH Bijbehara where doctors declared him brought dead,” Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet.
Sajjad was earlier a militant associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and was released from Public Safety Act (PSA), police said.
Sajad revealed that he had attacked on two outside labourers on 13/11/2022 at Rakhmomen, Bijbehara in Anantnag in which two labourers got seriously injured, police said adding that weapon of offence (Pistol) and vehicle used in the crime were also recovered on his disclosure.
“During investigation hybrid militant Sajjad Tantray, who was earlier a militant associate of LeT and released from PSA, revealed that he had attacked on two outside labourers on 13/11/2022 at Rakhmomen, Bijbehara in Anantnag in which two labourers got seriously injured, the tweet said.
Investigation is going on vigorously to arrest more militant associates of this module, police said.
“Weapon of offence (Pistol) and vehicle used in terror crime were also recovered on his disclosure. Investigation is going on vigorously to arrest more terror associates of this module,” the tweet said.
On November 12, one non-local labourer identified as Gobind of Kushinagar was killed and another namely Chota Prasad of Gorakhpur was injured in a militant attack at Rakh-Momin area of Bijbehara. Chota Prasad also succumbed to his injuries on 18-11-2022. — (KIMS)
