Amod Nagpure assumes charge as SSP Anantnag

ANANTNAG (KIMS) — Newly appointed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amod Nagpure, on Wednesday assumed charge and outlined his priorities, with a strong focus on intensifying efforts to curb drug abuse in the district.

Speaking to media persons during an introductory interaction, Nagpure expressed gratitude to journalists for attending the meeting and said that after his previous posting in Udhampur, he has now taken over charge in Anantnag.

He said that making Anantnag a drug-free district will be the top priority of the police, terming drug abuse a serious menace that can destroy future generations if not addressed effectively.

The SSP appealed to both the media and the public to extend full cooperation in the fight against drugs and urged people to actively contribute towards eliminating the menace from society.

Nagpure also announced that his office will remain open to the public on all working days without any requirement for prior appointments. He said citizens can directly visit the District Police Office (DPO) Anantnag to raise grievances, complaints or suggestions.

“There will be no visiting hours or appointments required. Any citizen can come forward and present their issues without any hindrance,” he said.

He further shared his contact number 7051000999, stating that it will remain available round-the-clock for the public. Citizens can also use WhatsApp to share complaints, emergency concerns or important information.

The SSP invited people to share inputs related to drug trafficking, crime or terrorism, assuring that all information will be treated confidentially and the identity of informants will be fully protected.

Expressing optimism, Nagpure said that with public cooperation and collective efforts, Anantnag will move towards peace and progress. — (KIMS)
