Can’t speak about deferment of polls: Kabra

Srinagar: Amid speculations of local body polls being deferred, Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir would be issuing a statement shortly which probably would be aimed to clear the air.

Speaking to KNS Chief Electoral Officer Shaleen Kabra, said that he would be issuing a statement regarding the polls shortly.

He however did not confirm whether the forthcoming Panchayat and Municipal polls would be defered or not.

Kabra refused to comment when asked if the media reports about polls being defered were true, saying such a question doesn’t pertain to him.

He said the chief electoral officer’s job is to issue notifications and hold elections .

Kabra added that CEO is not the right person to ask about the deferment of polls. (KNS)
