Amid Covid-19 surge Kashmir University keeps exam scheduled offline, students in distress

SRINAGAR – Amid Covid upsurge hundreds of students of UG 5th semester batch 2017/2018 have been perturbed as Kashmir University keeps their Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) paper scheduled tomorrow in offline mode.

The university authorities however have earlier postponed the SEC paper of backlog batch-2016 which was scheduled on 24th April.

News Agency Kashmir Dot Com reported that many of these batch 2017/2018 students raised concern about the scheduled exam amid Covid upsurge.

“We have to travel by public transport to the examination centres, keeping exam scheduled university authorities are endangering us as we may get exposed to the contagion”, said Ubaid Ahmad.

“We don’t want to become a threat to our family or locality by contracting the virus, the university authorities need to look upon this”, he added.

Another student wishing anonymity said that they don’t want to risk their lives, authorities at university need to understand this grim situation.

“Paper can wait, they have already postponed paper of batch-2016, postponing ours is no big deal for them”, said another student Aasiya.

These students sought immediate intervention of authorities and requested them to postpone the paper in view of the prevailing situation of Covid-19 second wave.

Meanwhile registrar Kashmir University, Nisar Ahmad told that they have scheduled a meeting today and they will look into the issue and discuss a possible go ahead.
