Altaf Bukhari set to become caretaker CM of J&K
Meets Amit Shah, may call on PM
Srinagar: Businessman turned politician Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari is tipped to head the next caretaker government in Jammu & Kashmir and it is likely that the swearing in ceremony may be held at Jammu on June 2.
Top sources in Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) told Associated News Bureau (ANB) that a 12 member caretaker government comprising members of Apni Party and BJP would be sworn on June 2.
The sources said that while eight members would be sworn in from BJP four would be inducted into the government from Apni Party.
“BJP leader and former minister Sunil Kumar Sharma would be new deputy chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir. A meeting with regard to the government formation is going on with Home Minister Amit Shah and there are chances that Bukhari and others would may hold a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi later in the evening today,” said sources.
Sources said that finalization process is going on in the union capital where Bukhari is camping since the lockdown was announced following the outbreak of Corona Virus in India.
They said that BJP is keen to include senior leaders in the government adding that Apni Party too might to do the same.
It would be in place to mention here that National Conference Vice President and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah air dashed to New Delhi following the latest development. Party leader Aga Ruhullah has warned Omar of any ‘misadventure’ and said same would lead to resentment among the party leaders.
