All Educational Institutions To Remain Closed Tomorrow In Kupwara, Handwara Amid Restrictions: Administration

Kupwara: In wake of the killing of two Hizb ul Mujahideen militants, district administration ordered the closure of all educational institutions including Schools and colleges in Kupwara and Handwara on Friday (Tomorrow).

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jehangir while talking to GNS said that the all schools and colleges across Kupwara district shall remain closed except in Machil, Tanghdar and Keran areas.

The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to avoid law and order situation in the Valley, he said.

“Restrictions under section 144 shall remain enforces from tomorrow morning in parts of Kupwara including Lolab”.

Earlier, two Hizb militants Zahoor Ahmad Mir and Bilal Ahmed Shah were killed in a brief shootout at Khumriyal in Lolab.

Later in the evening, a 45-year old man Mohd Jamal Tantray suffered bullet injuries after army allegedly in army action. (GNS)
