Active LeT militant held in Anantnag
Srinagar, Feb 27 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested an active militant of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in Anantnag district.
A police spokesman in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that incriminating materials and a pistol has been recovered from his possession.
During surprise naka checking, police said that movement of a suspicious person was noticed, who was apprehended tactfully by the alert police party.
He has been identified as Shahid Thoker, son of Muhammad Iqbal Thoker of Nossipora Keegam Shopian.
“Incriminating materials and a Pistol was recovered from his possession,” police said.
As per police records, the arrested militant is a categorized militant as he had recently joined the militant folds of LeT, police said.
Accordingly, police said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation into the matter is in progress—(KNO)
