Srinagar: Reacting to Friday’s attack on a CRPF party at Achabal Anantnag, the 15 corps commander based in Srinagar Lt Gen AK Bhatt on Saturday said militants will continue targeting government forces at places where they apprehend any action from army, para militaries and police. He said we will continue our operations against the militants till the militancy is wiped out.
According to the KNS correspondent, talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function at Baramulla, Lt Gen AK Bhatt said the attack on CRPF party at Achabal Anantnag does not fall on the Yatra route but militants will continue to target government forces at places where they apprehend action from the government forces.
In reply to a question about the tendency of youth joining militancy in north Kashmir, he said “the tendency among youth in north Kashmir is far for lesser than in south Kashmir. I appeal parents of the youth to persuade their children to live a normal life and advise them properly not to take violent path or pick up arms. Army wants youth to prosper and live a dignified life. (KNS)
