Accompanied by kids, PHE daily wagers hold protest in Srinagar for pending wages

Daily wagers working with the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department on Tuesday held a massive protest in Srinagar to demand their wages pending for nearly two years.

Reports said that hundreds of PHE daily wagers held a protest along with their children at Partap Park in Srinagar to demand the release of their salaries pending from past 21 months.

The protesters who also demanded benefits of seventh pay commission said that their children were being rusticated from schools due to non-payment of fees.

One of the kids of a worker held a placard with message: Governor Sahib I don’t have school fee because I am PHE casual labour[er]’s child”.
