Academic Calendar In 7th Month, Students Have Not Received Uniform From Education Department Pulwama
Pulwama: Nearly seven months into school, students enrolled in government schools in district Pulwama are yet to receive uniform from the schools.
Sources at the District Education Department said the students had not benefited from the government’s program of providing uniforms to students.
They said that since students with not so good financial conditions are studying in schools but have been deprived of the program.
“The conditions have forced these families to buy uniforms from the market, destroying the very essence of the program,” they said.
He said that the SSA scheme, under which students up to the 8th standard received 2 sets of uniforms per year for free, but no disbursements of uniforms have been made to date.
It is interesting to note that as the education calendar approaches the end, seven months later, a senior official at education department said they will soon be distributing uniforms to students.”
“We received late funding and very soon we will be providing uniforms,” he said.
