Aadhar KYC Overhaul Enhances Data Accuracy for Beneficiaries

Srinagar: The Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department in Kashmir has initiated a verification process, incorporating Aadhar KYC procedures. The move, amid Aadhar and ration card linking, aims to guarantee precise authentication of family members within households.

Director FCS & CA Kashmir, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi, emphasized the importance of Aadhar KYC in ensuring correctness and accuracy of beneficiary data. The department is actively working to complete the Aadhar KYC procedure within a specified timeframe, urging all citizens to undergo the verification process.

Sofi reassured residents that the verification procedure will extend beyond Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the department’s commitment to covering every citizen. He urged those left behind to come forward with documents for registration.

Addressing concerns about essential supplies, especially LPG, as winter approaches, Sofi affirmed the department’s preparedness and sufficient stock. He assured plans are in place to address any challenges that may arise during the winter season.

Responding to procedural concerns raised by consumers, Sofi clarified that thumb impressions during verification generate ration slips instantly. He urged consumers facing issues to report them for swift resolution.

Amid reports of forgery regarding ration cards in Srinagar, Sofi warned of strict action against those found using fake cards, especially individuals with government jobs and substantial incomes. The department is dedicated to resolving concerns of employees, particularly those deployed at overcrowded ration stores.

As Kashmir undergoes this Aadhar KYC overhaul, the department remains focused on ensuring accurate data, fair distribution of essential supplies, and addressing the needs and grievances of both beneficiaries and employees.
