A Student of Yemeni descent is nominated for the Commonwealth Young Person Award

The 21-year-old Yemeni student – Al-Hassan Al-Fakih – was nominated for a commonwealth young person award after achieving several local and international achievements.

Al-Hassan Al-Faqih, after achieving a global achievement in the Hult Prize competition, was able to set a record in the history of the competition by organizing four programs in four different universities for the same year, thus becoming the owner of the largest numbers in the Hult Prize competition as an organizer.

Al-Hassan Al-Fakih is a student of Yemeni origins studying at the University of Jordan with a major in Industrial Engineering. He is considered one of the most promising young men.

each year an outstanding entrant is named Commonwealth Young Person of the Year, with regional awards given for Asia, the Pacific, the Caribbean and Americas, Africa and Europe.

The awards demonstrate to leaders and other policy-makers the importance of young people’s role in development. The awards also serve to inspire other young people to take action in their communities.

Development work can be within any number of areas, such as skills training, arts and culture, environment protection, education, health and well-being, human rights, technology, sport, science and many more areas.
