2019 Brings Snowfall In Kashmir Valley
Srinagar-Jammu NHW, Bandipora-Gurez road closed for traffic
Srinagar, Jan 2: Fresh snowfall lashed most parts of the Kashmir Valley on Wednesday as the minimum temperatures rose above the freezing point.
Fresh snowfall was received in higher reaches of Kashmir valley including Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Pir Panchal mountain range and several other places.
The traffic movement on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway and Bandipora-Gurez road was also suspended due to snowfall and slippery road conditions.
The MeT Office said another spell of snowfall is likely in the Valley beginning January 4.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar was recorded 5.2 degrees Celsius, 4.9 degrees in Pahalgam and 2.6 degrees in Gulmarg.
Leh and Kargil recorded minus 12.4 degree Celsius and minus 17 degree Celsius as the minimum temperatures.
