Kashmir University Sends Papers Through WhatsApp, Provides Unreadable Question Papers To Students

Srinagar, Dec 14: Imagine the condition of a student if he gets poorly printed examination paper, almost invisible in the examination hall. Kashmir University first forgot to send examination papers and when staffers reminded them, they send it through WhatsApp that too an hour late. When these papers were printed, they were almost invisible. The answer sheets were taken away from the students half an hour before as it was getting dark in wake of the winter season.

This situation was faced by 4th semester students of 2nd year batch 2016 at different examination centres including Government College for Women Maulana Azad Road, Amar Singh College on December 13.

These students who were visibly frustrated narrated the ordeal before the Reporters in Press Enclave Srinagar on Friday.

“We were left fuming on Thursday as the Kashmir University had forgotten to send the question papers of the ‘Skill Enhancement’ subject to the examination centres. The paper was scheduled to be held at 2 pm. The duration of the paper was 2 hours but papers were snatched from us half an hour before. It was hard to decipher the paper due to its poor pint quality. It was bound to happen as the Varsity had sent the paper through WahtsApp,” the students told news agency CNS.

“We are sure that our paper was set hurriedly and sent through WhatsApp. How can Kashmir University officials be so callous and play with the future of the students,” they said and demanded stern action against the guilty.

The protesting students who were carrying ineligible question papers in their hands demanded re-examination of the said paper.

Controller Examinations, KU, Prof Farooq Ahmad Mir said that he would look into the matter. (CNS)
