PRC Row: TeH Terms ‘Wicked Plan’
Srinagar: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) on Tuesday said the contemplated change into the procedure of issuing permanent resident certificates (PRCs) was “a deliberate attempt to change J&K’s demography”.
In a statement issued here, TeH spokesperson quoting Sehrai said that the resistance leadership had a clear stand against the “anti-Kashmir and anti-people policies” and that the policies which were against the Kashmiri people and their security would not be allowed.
“The utter purpose of these efforts is to convert Muslim majority into a minority in Jammu & Kashmir so that desired results can be achieved in the plebiscite under the United Nation,” he alleged.
Expressing serious apprehensions over the “wicked plan” of issuing PRCs, Sehrai said, India and her “anti-Kashmir” politicians were hell-bent to change the demographic character of Kashmir which was a “long dream of RSS and its fascist ideological” people to tamper the State Subject laws. He said, “It is a desperate attempt to change the Muslim majority status and to counter the pro-freedom resistance in every respect.”
Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat General Secretary, Ameer Hamzah strongly denounced the house arrest of its party chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai. Terming it a “revenge” policy against resistance leadership, he said the “anti-human” acts of the administration and violation of fundamental rights were the first and the last resort of authorities.
