Internet Service Providers Summoned In Bandipora
Bandipora: District commissioner Bandipora Shahid Choudhary on Sunday said they have summoned internet service providers after complaints poured in that high-speed internet services were not restored in the district after conclusion of phase VI of panchayat polls. Choudhary said the service providers were doing it without any verbal or written order from the administration.
In response to a tweet which the the deputy commissioner Shahid Iqbal Choudhary quoted, he wrote “There has been absolutely no order (verbal/written) from us to snap or slow down the internet in Bandipora. Pursuant to public complaints I have summoned service providers 2morrow. Pl note that our official work is the first casualty. Be informed. @airtelindia @JioCare @BSNLCorporate”
Sources said that the registration process for Ayushman Bharat Mission was likely to be delayed due to slow net speed. The deadline of which is slated on 15 December. However, minutes after the tweet, the high-speed internet was restored.
During the ongoing panchayat elections, the government has been either snapping or reducing the high-speed internet in poll-bound districts. However, in Bandipora it has been the second consecutive time that services weren’t restored 24 hours after the culmination of the polls.
