International Museum week celebration concludes at Dogra Art Museum
Hundreds of students, Scholars visit special exhibition
JAMMU, MAY 22: “The International Museum Week’’ celebrations organized on a grand note at the Dogra Art Museum, Mubarak Mandi, Jammu by the Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums, J&K Government concluded on Sunday.
The activities organised during the celebratory event included a special exhibition on Dogra Folk Art for which visiting hours were extended to facilitate visitors and additional outreach activities.
Hundreds of students and scholars from Government as well as private institutions visited the museum during the event, and they were made aware of Dogra heritage (tangible and intangible) and given guided tour by the expert staff members of the museum.
Prominent citizens and people from all walks of life also visited the museum during the weeklong celebrations, acknowledged and praised this initiative of Director, Department of Archives, Archaeology and Museums, J&K Pardeep Kumar, who is very keen and particular about spreading awareness of tangible and intangible heritage to the every nook and corner of the Jammu and Kashmir,
This week long event was supervised and closely monitored by Dr. Sangeeta Sharma, Assistant Director and Mukul Magotra, Curator Department of Archives Archaeology and Museums J&K Government.
