The murder of a chemist in Mendhar! Case solved and as we told you the wife was the culprit!
– ‘Zaib-ul-Nisa now arrested must be thinking and saying to herself that If peace can only come through killing someone, then I don’t want it (it’s too late now). But she played a stellar role in getting rid of her husband, the chemist, Tahir was a loving husband but she was playing the traitor as she was in love with her brother-in-law. The result had to ve a disaster and it was. A wholesome one for the family which till First October 2021 was all smiling and living life as it should be but Zaib and her lover were planning something gruesome’
-‘We did write, was it a sudden death, was it planned death or was it the fatal kiss of death where the weapon used was poison or overdose of drugs! After all he was a chemist!’
-‘It may look a stupid question but still we feel that there is a sense in it. Can a magician kill a man by magic? Many readers would call us an idiot, buffoon and laugh at us and dislike the question.But we think that a magician might if she is a woman but a gentle lady never can! In this case it is a lady who did it and that too the chemists wife, perhaps the only reason for what she was born, ‘to assist someone in the chilling murder of her husband who was a good man and the reason was an extra marital affair. She could have taken a divorce but she preferred not to and now she stares at a trial and a life full of all difficult angles leading just one way and that is to the dungeons of hell!’
-‘We also said that poison has a certain appeal … It has not the crudeness of the revolver bullet or the blunt weapon but when used in a proper way it kills! It snuffs off every part of his/her body. Some die slowly and some instantaneously, if poison is used as a weapon to kill. In this case it probably seems to be the case because the man who is dead was a chemist and I think his knowledge about drugs he was selling, he definitely knew that those which were to be given on prescription and those which were not supposed to be was perfect! But someone in the house probably knew this to get him off the life’s hook’
-‘And we also said that yes the routine head line of the news item had the word mysterious. Mysterious has many connotations, to begin with suicide, second is rivalry, it could be personal or business, the third domestic disturbance, fourth something which is going on in personal life that is detestable, for example an affair disliked and last of all frustration in the mind of someone as to why the man, the thorn that pricks is alive?;
-‘We were not wrong in any of our assumptions as Mendhar Police under the master investigator Z A. Jaffri with his support cast SHO Niaz Ahmed, directed by Dr. Vinod Kumar SSP Poonch ensured that the murder mystery was solved making it three in three months and now one remains and that is of the kid Afsana. Trust us that the kid will also get justice! All said and done this was yet another great job done by the men in Khaki!
-‘It was a Widow spider’s bite, sinister all the way with evil brains at work and it grew murkier behind the back of the chemist who did not know as to what his wife was up to! In short she will live with a blot and the slur on womanhood! It was 02 October 2021when a news came up, which at the first look was insignificant because a chemist was found dead in his home under mysterious circumstances does not seem to be stunning! It was not insignificant because a family had lost a person and that is not an uncommon thing in UT J&K. In fact it never was! The news item said that a 35-year-old chemist named Tahir Mehmood from his home in the Dhargloon area of Mendhar Poonch. A huge box of questions opened itself here. Who saw the dead man first and who was with him the last when Tahir was seen the last time alive? Obviously everything happened between this period. If it was his room where he was found dead then the whole situation narrowed down to the family’! It has already been done and now this is not insignificant! It’s a goddamn murder if probed! Sorry. I We did not get was busy talking about our feelings about killing people but we were damn sure that it was a murder! And that is what the probe has concluded!
-‘We said thatTahir’s weapon was his knowledge of medical drugs to cure patients. But perhaps he did not remember that it may be a knowledge he did not know that he possessed but forgot that evening as to what he ate in the form of snacks/food or drank a soft beverage or a glass of water from someone’s hand. Could be a glass of delicious milk with cream right at the rim of the glass giving out all the fragrance!’ But who served that? Tahir cannot reply but some will have to? Now they rattled out as the Police pounded them with questions that mattered! And when the police get into the fast and furious questioning mode then the clarity in answers tends to get into stutters and that is game set and match, I was!’
-‘Again we will say that there is nothing called as it is referred or the perpetrators think, ‘perfect murder/crime’. This way or that way crime does leave many tell tale signs and in this case there were many. The Police had to latch on to them and that is what they did with some stupendous investigative skills!’
‘There are two kinds of people in this world, son. Those who save lives, and those who take lives. Zaib-ul-Nisa was of the second kind. She could have got on the front foot and told her husband that she was not interested in him anymore. She could have easily told her husband that ‘you go back to your life since I have decided to take a detour from you. She did not and worked on a disgusting plan to get rid of him! She indeed was successful but one thing she forgot, ‘sinners never go unpardoned and that is what she may be realizing now’!
He died in his own house, found dead alone, sounds a bit awkward? His medical history seems to be fine, business wise he was doing well, married, whether leading a happy married life or not could be a concern because hush- hush whispers in Sangla Chowk are beginning to emanate. It’s been almost a fortnight when this mysterious death was unearthed but definitely is getting inclined towards a well planned murder with intent and motive. The effort was perhaps to make it look like a suicide but it is not! It was at 0949 Hours in the morning when Tahir was found dead! But was he alive before that? Someone should have known it or knew it! Was it that Tahir had planned not to go to his shop on 02 October as it was a National Holiday! But chemist shops remain open! Did Tahir always wake up at that time when the household found him dead? Finally, who was sleeping in the room along with him? He was married and it is customary that a married couple usually sleep in the same bedroom other than the reason that they are living alone or divorced! That was definitely not the case! Then who?
Tahir owned a shop near Sangla Chowk Mendhar. SHO Gursai Niaz Ahmed said that proceedings under 174 CrPC have been launched. That was the official version. Thereafter nothing happened. But the sounds of silence and whispers had already begun making rounds and all were indicating towards a murder because the chances of a suicide had been negative by one simple reason that the young man belonged to an educated and well to do family and the pharmaceutical business was running fine. Anngles were many and we had discussed those in detail and all were inclined to the fact that the case was a sensational one. It was peoved that way as the Police got to know the motive as well as the intent! This is what they did and how they did:
* Police have solved the sensational case of murder of a 38-year-old chemist in Dhargloon area of Mendhar Poonch with the arrest of his wife and her paramour besides her brother.
*On October 2, Police recovered the body of the chemist Tahir Mehmood (38) son of late Mohammad Sadeeq (retired ZEO) under suspicious circumstances in his room. Subsequently, police launched inquest proceedings under section 174 Cr.PC in the police station.
&On the basis of material as well as technical evidence, SDPO Mendhar Z A Jaffri Said that the inquest proceedings were converted into case FIR NO 115/2021 under section IPC’s 306 (Abetment of suicide) 111(punishment for thug) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) against Mst.
*Zaib Ul-Nisa wife of Tahir Mehmood, Mohammad Iqbal (paramour) and Razwan Ahmed (brother-in-law of the deceased), all resident of Dhargloon Tehsil Mendhar and accused have been arrested.
*The extra-marital affair of his wife become cause for Tahir Mehmood’s murder, he said, ‘Further investigation is going on and developments in the case will be shared,’ he said.
*This is the third murder case solved in last three months by the police in Mendhar. Earlier police solved Shahnaz Akhter and Shariq murder cases.
We did say that the first angle was professional jealousy but that was a negative at the very first instance because the man was down to earth and had none as his enemies. Yes, jealousy on a personal front cannot be ruled out and that is the first indicator that makes the first indoor entry into the household! By the way, not uncommon in Mendhar or elsewhere! The second angle could have been rivalry over property! But that would have come to the forefront much earlier. The head of the family was a ZEO. Obviously ethics were uppermost in the family! But was everyone following it? Perhaps someone was not! The third looked a bit more obtuse! The relation between the husband and the wife? May have been very good but it cannot be possible that she did not know that her husband was lifeless half time into the afternoon! At that we did say that the obtuse one looked a huge possibility and lo! It was! But all said and done Mendhar Police did a spectacular job. Three in three and bulls eye! It’s magical stuff from District Police Poonch! The moral of the story is that it does not take courage to kill. It takes courage to live! Zaib and her lover would have been living and so would have been Tahir had they decided on a courageous option of confessing. There would have been hard feelings, heated arguments, abusive family and public opinion and what not. But with time everything would have settled! But one drastic step and a storm unfurled itself. Tahir was blown away, Zaib and two others got their tickets booked for a long haul in jail! Deftly plotted crime and dreadful end result! Nothing new, it always happens that way!
