DC Suspends Range Officer Ompora After Minor Girl’s Death

BUDGAM: After a leopard killed a little girl in Ompora area of Central Kashmir, District Development Commissioner Budgam Shahbaz Mirza suspended Range Officer Wild Life Department for dereliction of duties.

Pertinently, leopard on Thursday evening took away a 4-year-old little girl and on Friday morning her body was found in forest nursery area of Ompora Budgam.

Office of the Deputy Commissioner in a tweet said: “DC Budgam suspends Range Officer Wildlife Deptt.Ompora for dereliction of duties in backdrop of leapord mauling 4 year old girl to death. Chairs Emergency meeting, key decisions taken in meeting to avert any further such unfortunate incidents in future.” (KNT)
