People Protest Against ‘Shifting Of Oxygen Plant Machinery’ In Shopian
SHOPIAN: A number of people are protesting since this evening in District Hospital Shopian premises against alleged shifting of oxygen plant machinery.
Reports said that the people rushed the venue soon after few trucks appeared this evening, which according to them are being used to ferry the equipments of the high-flow oxygen plant.
Traders Federation President (Bazaar Committee Hospital Road) Jahangir Turray while talking to GNS said that “It was after assurance from Director (Health Services Kashmir) that two Oxygen plants, including a High Flow Oxygen plant were installed in the district as per the needs of people” adding that “However unnecessarily and to our misfortune that the High Flow Oxygen plant it is being taken away without anyone knowing about it.”
“This district is being ignored at all fronts”, Turray lamented adding that “Even as there is looming threat of third wave, it is too unfortunate it is being taken away.”
Meanwhile when tried to contact Deputy Commissioner Shopian Sachin Kumar Vaishya could not be reached for immediate comments on the issue. ADC Shopian Abdul Aziz Shiekh also didn’t respond to several calls. (GNS)
