Four Persons Arrested With Contraband in Shopian

Srinagar: Police on Thursday claimed to have made contraband recoveries in two separate places in south-Kashmir’s Shopian district.

A police official told GNS that two persons identified as Waseem Ahmad Wagay and Waseem Beigh both residents of New Colony Shopian were frisked upon and 245 grams of Charas was recovered from their possession.

An FIR number 33/2021 under 8/20 NDPS was registered against the duo, the official said.

Similarly in another recovery made at Bonabazar area, two individuals identified as Tahir Ahmad Bhat and Zubair Ahmad Sofi were found in possession of 300 grams of the contraband.

An FIR number 34/2021 under section 8/20 NDPS was registered against the duo and further investigations in this regard taken up. (GNS)
