Congress likely to support PAGD in Baramulla DDC chairman contest
Srinagar 8 February (KNS): Congress party is likely to support People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), a multi-party amalgam formed for the restoration of the Union Territory’s statehood in DDC chairman contest for District Development Council in Baramulla.
Sources told news agency Kashmir News Service that Irfan Hafeez will also support PAGD and in return of support to him for vice chairman post.
Sources also revealed that two members each from National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party, Congress and independent Irfan Hafiz Lone are part of a group who will make chairman and vice chairman.
It is pertinent to mention that voting for chairman, vice chairman was going to be held today in Baramulla but due to the lack of quorum the Election was adjourned and will now take place in next 10 days.(KNS)
