Anti encroachment drive against the encroachers of State Land and Roshni Beneficiaries in District Shopian

Shopian: Anti encroachment drive is in full swing in the Tehsil Shopian, against the encroachers of state land and the Roshni Beneficiaries in whose favour the allotments were made under Roshni Act 2007.

During the past week sixty kanals of State Land has been evicted from the encroachers in Tehsil Shopian, during eviction number of shops were demolished along with demolition of new constructions in the Shopian town too.

Few patches of the land evicted from encroachers is worth crores as the same lies in the prime spots of the Town Shopian only.

The anti encroachment drive was lead by the Tehsildar Shopian, Bilal Ahmed (KAS), along with his team which comprised of NT Shopian, GQs and Patwaries, along with team of Municipality staff lead by EO, Municipality.

Pertinently, tehsil Shopian has framed village wise list of the encroachers and the Eviction of the same is done in a phased manner.

Talking to Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad yasin (IAS), In this regard, who appreciated the efforts of the team and revealed that such drives would continue in the District and the High court directions in this regard would be followed in letter and spirit to get the encroached land evicted fully along with the State Land alloted under Roshni Act, 2007.
