Two drug peddlers arrested in Parimpora Srinagar, 500 bottles of codine phosphate recovered: Police
Srinagar: Police on Wednesday arrested two drug peddlers from Parimpora area of Srinagar city and recovered 500 bottles of codine phosphate from their possession.
Police in a statement said, “During Naka checking at Parimpora byepass Opp. Fruit Mandi, One scooty bearing Reg No JKO1T 0630 coming towards Naka from Parimpora on which packed cardboard boxes were laden, was asked to stop for routine checking and the scooty driver and pillion rider carrying cardboard boxes hurriedly tried to escape from the spot, but by the swift action of Police party both were apprehended.”
The duo has been identified as Moin Ahmad Shah, Son of Gh Mohd Shah from Hilal Abad Qamarwari Srinagar and Muzaffar Ahmad Lisoo, Son of Abdul Aziz Lisoo from Rampora Chattabal A/P Hamdania Colony Bemina Srinagar.
05 card board boxes (cases) carrying 500 bottles of codine phosphate were recovered from their possession.
The acused drug peddlers were carrying this huge quantity of Narcotic analgesic drugs for smugling in general area of Srinagar City. Both the drug peddlers arrested on spot, narcotic drugs alongwith the scooty were seized, the statement added.
A case FIR No 208/2020 Under Section 8/21 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Parimpora in this regard and investigation taken up.
