Verification & purging of ration cards list kick-started in Pulwama
Pulwama: The district Administration, Pulwama today ordered weeding out of the ineligible households from the list of AAY, PHH, Non PHH, Exclusion category and incorporating of the eligible households in the ration card list under NFSA-2013.
The order issued here reads that as per complaints being received at tehsil, subdivision and district level numerous households are still out of the purview of NFSA 2013 and many ineligible households belonging to exclusion category being govt. employees, businessmen and landlords are reaping the benefits of AAY and PHH categories.
The order further reads that in this regard a 3 tier committee has been reconstituted to weed out ineligible beneficiaries and include eligible ones as per criteria under NFSA.
The District Level Committee has been given the mandate of collecting and segregating the data as per criteria notified by the government besides monitoring and digitisation of data.
The Tehsil Level Committee has to ensure the submission of authentic and correct data besides generating maximum awareness about the verification process.
Organisation of Gram Sabha and receiving objections besides identification and recommendation of eligible households for inclusion and exclusion accordingly has been entrusted to the Village Level Committee.
The Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer said that the district administration is committed towards equitable and inclusive governance and the mentioned committees shall complete the process in a time bound manner.
He said that this parallel exercise of weeding out of ineligible and exclusion of eligible beneficiaries shall be beneficial for rolling out of One Nation One Ration Card scheme so that the desired benefits reach the intended persons and people can also contact the helpline no’s 01933241127, 9906919347 established for this purpose.
The DC said already 86% Aadhar seeding has been achieved in the district and at present there are total 15,085 AAY cards in district, 59,641 BPL/PHH cards, 40,718 NPHH cards and 693 ration cards under Exclusion category.
As per the order issued, strict SOP guidelines and social distancing norms shall have to be followed while holding the Gram Sabha meetings and meetings of verification committees in view of the COVID-19 situation in the district.
